I’ll concede the point on the Apple mouse, but I maintain that font is better in Ubuntu. Zeldman correctly pointed out that Firefox has major problems on Mac, but that certainly does not entice me to buy one. I would gladly pit Ubuntu/Firefox versus OS X/Safari. See here for a side by side comparison.

I don’t think there is any such thing as a “correct” way to render font, so it will always be largely subjective, but IMO Ubuntu compares very favorably.

Check out the Zeldman Daily Report and Jeffrey’s analysis of Safari v. Firefox.

I don’t know if I’d go so far as to call Apple Satan over M$ either, but they are certainly very bad when it comes to proprietery software and hardware. I just love my Macbook Pro way too much to make the switch to Ubuntu…for now.

Lastly, in Apple’s defense, OS X fully supports two-button mice and all of their newer mice are two-buttons, except for the built-in touchpad on the laptops…but who uses those anyway?
